Miami-Dade Public Library System presents Spoken Word Poetry Workshop

The Miami-Dade Public Library System presents Spoken Word Poetry Workshop on Tuesday, July 21st, Wednesday, July 22nd and Thursday, July 23rd at the Main Library auditorium in Downtown, Miami located at 101 West Flagler Street. There will be a poetry showcase on Friday, July 24th from 2 to 5 p.m.

The workshop is an in-depth workshop focusing on writing and performance techniques for the aspiring spoken word poet. With feedback from the Biscayne Poet, your original written work will be shaped into a performance piece for all to experience, live on stage.

Oscar Fuentes is a performance artist from Miami, and the front man for The Oscar Fuentes Combo, a musical project where he blends his original beat-poetry with a three to five member jazz fusion band. He is the author of two books of poetry and prose: Beautiful Women Will Never Know (2013) and 4 Nights with Betsy (2014). Event is free to the public. For more information please call 305-375-2665.
