South Miami Hospital’s Center for Women & Infants presents ‘You Look Spavelous’

By Shannon Johns….

Myrzy Lacayo from South Miami Hospital’s Center for Women & Infants welcomes attendees to last year’s You Look Spavelous event.

Some people live to work. Others work to live. The challenge is to learn to balance life and work – while taking the best possible care of you. “You Look Spavelous,” which is hosted by South Miami Hospital’s Center for Women & Infants, is a day to relax, rejuvenate and focus on your needs. The free event will be held on Sunday, January 23, from 1 – 4 p.m. at South Miami Hospital’s Victor E. Clarke Education Center, located at U.S. 1 and S.W. 62 Avenue.

Cindy Goodman, who writes The Miami Herald’s“Work and Family Issues” column, will be the keynote speaker. Ms. Goodman will share her knowledge of how to maintain the precarious balance between life and work.

Leading dermatologists, podiatrists and cosmetic surgeons will be on-hand to offer helpful advice on how to look and feel better. The afternoon of pampering will also include free osteoporosis screenings and chair massages.

“Every year we look forward to this event and so do our attendees,” said Denise Woods, R.N., vice president, Center for Women & Infants. “The goal of the event is to get women thinking about their own health since they are often focused on taking care of others.”

It’s a free day of refreshments, relaxation and renewal. Space is limited. To reserve your space, call 786-596-3815.
