St. Brendan student first to win state swim meet individual event

St. Brendan High School senior Wayne Denswil won two individual events, the 100-meter butterfly and 200-meter individual medley, at the FHSAA State Swim Meet in Stuart on Nov. 9. Denswil is the first swimmer in the school’s history to win individual events at the state meet.

Junior Zuhair Pigot placed second in the 100-meter butterfly. Both young men are international students from Suriname and will be competing for a spot on their country’s Olympic team in 2016.
