Sushi Showdown, a Splitsville strike

Sushi Chef Cesar Roque shows his talent

Splitsville Luxury Lanes downtown “Sushi Showdown” saw five featured master sushi chefs compete for a $500 grand prize and other performance rewards recently at Sunset Place.

A live video feed on a big screen TV enabled guests and friends to catch front row action and see Cesar Rogue walk away as winner of a “Speed Rolling” event.

Rogue assembled five perfectlyproportioned cucumber and asparagus rolls in just over two and a half minutes. The Grand Prize was awarded to Ivan Jaramillo with Greg Lie impressing all with his showmanship and presentation.

Dwayne McQuillen, Splitsville General Manager, won kudos of his own for planning and execution of a fun-filled food event, adding his ideas for next year ‘will stay fresh’until the next “Sushi Showdown.”
