The Wirtz Gallery, March 4-31 Exhibit/Benefit

Wirtz Gallery

Wirtz GalleryAn expansive dual exhibit of contrasting photographic works by emerging artists Janet and Jerry Kelfer will hang at South Miami’s elegant Wirtz Gallery, located inside the FNBSM lobby at 5750 Sunset Dr. SM, (305-667-5511) from March 4th through the 31st. The March 14th public opening reception (6-9 p.m.) takes place as part of SoMi ArtWalk, and will feature music by UM Frost School student musicians, complimentary beverages and light fare. The month-long exhibit can also be viewed Monday-Thursday, 9-4; Fridays, 9-6.

Ms. Kelfer’s evocative fine art photographs are at once poignant and metaphorical, lyrical and ethereal. Mr. Kelfer’s intuitively framed and subtly humorous street scenes deftly draw the viewer into his urban documentaries as they unfold. The monthlong exhibit will include a significant number of never-beforeseen images debuting alongside signature photographs such as Ms. Kelfer’s Brooklyn Bridge and Mr. Kelfer’s Venetian Pool. Casa Valentina and the University of Miami Frost School of Music are the exhibit’s net co-beneficiaries.
