Unbelievable Tourist Destinations Near South Miami, Florida

South Miami is a great place to stay, as it’s a small section of Miami-Dade County that’s very close to many of the area’s major attractions. It’s also home to some great tourist destinations of its own, and visitors to South Miami can enjoy a number of unforgettable experiences while staying in town.

One great example is Shops at Sunset Place, an outdoor mall that’s probably South Miami’s biggest claim to fame. The shops in Sunset Place offer parties for kids, bars and entertainment for adults, and even bowling lanes for the whole family. It’s a very unique outdoor mall that attracts visitors from all over Florida, and it’s a great way to spend a day or a night in the city with a family or friends.

Jungle Island, which was formerly known as Parrot Island, is another must-see tourist attraction. It’s a wildlife park with animals from the Florida Everglades and beyond, offering a way to experience the beauty of the Everglades without disturbing the ecosystem (or dealing with tons of mosquitoes). There are several botanical gardens nearby, including Pinecrest Gardens. Santa’s Enchanted Forest Park is a good wintertime tourist destination near South Miami. As its name implies, it’s a Christmas theme park, complete with rides, music and much more. Santa’s Enchanted Forest Park opens on November 4th and stays open until early January. It’s a great place for a family visit.

Farther away from South Miami are more zoos and theme parks, including Zoo Miami, one of the best zoos in the nation, and the Miami Seaquarium. These tourist attractions are well-kept and always provide an exciting experience. It’s also worth making the trip down to South Beach, which is an incredibly fun area filled with shops, clubs and beaches for enjoying the legendary weather of Miami-Dade County.

South Miami visitors should budget a few days for these attractions, especially the nearby Sunset Place. South Miami provides a great central location for a visit to Florida, as it’s a beautiful city near some of the most famous and exciting tourist attractions in the entire United States.
