New year, new you… Fitness Together in South Miami and Coconut Grove are looking for winners for their 2011 Resolution Makeover Contest. Four lucky contest winners will kick start their New Year’s resolutions with eight weeks of private personal training and nutrition counseling at Fitness Together, a style makeover from a personal style consultant, a complete new outfit with accessories and a haircut and style.
“The winners will see very dramatic results in eight weeks and will receive about $2,000 in products and services,” said Scott Baumann, who co-owns the two Fitness Together locations with Eddie Rodriguez.

Four lucky contest winners will kick start their New Year’s resolutions with eight weeks of private personal training and nutrition counseling at Fitness Together, a style makeover from a personal style consultant, a complete new outfit with accessories and a haircut and style. “The winners will see very dramatic results in eight weeks and will receive about $2,000 in products and services,” said Scott Baumann, who co-owns the two Fitness Together locations with Eddie Rodriguez. Entries are being accepted until January 1st and training will begin at the Fitness Together studios on January 10th. The winners, two adults and two teenagers, both male and female, must agree to commit to the fitness program and Nutrition Together healthy eating plan that will be custom designed for them. The fitness program will consist of three training workouts per week with a Fitness Together personal trainer and prescribed cardiovascular workouts to be conducted on their own.
The winners must also agree to be in the “spotlight” as they make their progress during the eight weeks. “We’ll announce the four winners and monitor their progress in the newspaper and on our website blog,” said Baumann. “We’ll also have a ‘big reveal’ at the end of the eight weeks, complete with before and after photos.”
The “big reveal” will not only showcase the winners’ new toned, physiques, it will reveal a total transformation, compliments of area merchants who have partnered with Fitness Together. The style makeover is compliments of Kim Rodriguez of KR Personal Style. A new outfit with accessories will be provided by Emporium in Coral Gables, The Dressing Room in South Miami or Unika in Coconut Grove. Winners will also be pampered with a fresh new haircut and style, compliments of Jill McAllister at Hair Review.
“This is a great opportunity for local merchants to work together and give back to some very deserving people,” said Baumann. “Our goal is to help these contestants regain self-confidence and feel really good about themselves. The contest process may also help motivate others by showing that you really can transform yourself in eight weeks.”
It was important for Baumann and Rodriguez to choose two teenage contest winners. “Unfortunately, many of our teenagers are losing the battle with obesity,” said Baumann. “If we teach teens the importance of physical fitness and healthy eating, it will help to set up good habits for life.”
Baumann is encouraging people to nominate a family member or friend who is deserving of this physique and style transformation. The deadline to enter the 2011 Resolution Makeover Contest is January 1st.
