Suarez noted that he will place priority on improving public transit and parks, advocate for more affordable housing, and work to lower property taxes.

Addressing his colleagues on the dais, Commissioner Suarez stated that the commission “could not desist from starting, right now, to improve the lives of our fellow citizens with the $7.5 billion entrusted to us.”

  1. Mr. Camner, I am James from Miami currently in Fort Lauderdale. I have been gone from Miami many years and back just now and I find that Xavier Suarez was elected as a Miami-Dade Commissioner District 7. I knew Mayor Xavier Suarez. Just a question. Would you like to tell me why you would make this post? Really. I am not disputing you. I am only asking why?
