Aribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the Beach Bar @ Newport Pier on Friday, July 11 at 5:30 pm. Dr. Robert Cornfeld and Steven Hurowitz, of the Newport Group, joined Frank Zaffere, Beach Bar partner, and Sunny Isles Beach Mayor Norman S. Edelcup as they launched the restaurant on the historic pier.

The much anticipated restaurant had a soft opening in early June and was an immediate hit. The restaurant’s ambience is pleasant, open-aired, much like a beachfront home with contemporary casual furnishings. There is seating for more than 200 patrons; 84 inside and 120 outside under the covered patios. The interior features three bars: a full sushi bar, a raw bar and a liquor bar. The liquor bar also serves high top tables to the outside. Special covered couch seating at the east end of the restaurant offers patrons “the most comfort- able pier-seating in the world”.

Delicious food is offered during lunch, dinner and into late night. The cuisine is sushi, steak and seafood, with an American Asian flair. The chefs work their magic 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday: 11:00 am – 2:00 am. With the opening of this establishment, visitors have found yet another reason to love Sunny Isles Beach. Residents, take advantage of the world class dining, perched six feet above the Atlantic Ocean, within walking distance of your home.

After dinner, restaurant patrons may want to enjoy the only public pier in Miami-Dade County, now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Rates are as follows: Fishing is $5 for Non-Residents and $2 for Residents who present their SIB Resident ID Card. Access to walk out on the pier without fishing is $2 for Non-Residents and free for Residents who present their SIB Resident ID Card.
