Relay For Life is more than a walkRelay For Life is a celebration of cancer survivorship started in 1985. The event runs for 18 hours to symbolize that there is no break from struggle with cancer. Relay represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. Relay is important because one in three Americans will get cancer in their lifetime. Today, slightly more than half of cancer patients survive. This survival rate can be increased through more research and greater community awareness of health issues.Relay For Life gives everyone an opportunity to fight back and make a difference in the battle against cancer.
