American Friends of Rambam Medical Center opens South FL Chapter in Aventura

Community leaders gathered recently at Turnberry Isle Resort for the South Florida launch of the American Friends of Rambam Medical Center. The breakfast, luncheon and private meetings attracted dozens of local government officials and leaders from the Jewish community. The guest list included several grateful patients who took the opportunity to share their positive experiences at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel with the other attendees. In addition to meeting and welcoming Professor Rafi Beyar, MD, Director & CEO of Rambam Health Care Campus, they came to learn about Rambam’s recent achievements in medical discovery and treatment, security and safety of northern Israel, and its initiatives for peace in the Middle East.

Professor Beyar’s informative and exciting presentation resulted in a rapt audience. Rick Hirschhaut, National Executive Director, also addressed the guests, sharing his vision for the future of AFORAM, and the non-profit organization’s growth and expansion to cities like Aventura that have large and vibrant Jewish and Israeli communities. Sue Baron, Southeast Regional Director of AFORAM, commented,

“If there is a cause that touches your heart, you’ll find it at Rambam.”

The opening of the South Florida Chapter has already generated interest in medical missions for treatments at Rambam and visits to Rambam during its annual May 27-29, 2018 Summit, when it will be celebrating its 80th anniversary as one of the largest, most important and strategically-located medical centers in Israel.
