Sunny Isles Beach Ambassador to Asia returns from Taiwan

Sunny Isles Beach Ambassador to Asia returns from TaiwanOn invitation from the Giant Bicycle Co. and Overseas Chinese Affairs Council, our Sunny Isles Beach Ambassador to Asia, Fang Oliver was delighted to accept an invitation to join a five day, 150-mile-bike-tour.

This was an exciting team building exercise before attending top meetings in the Taipei Grand Hotel.

During the 10-week-trip, our ambassador worked as director of the 50,000-member World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, attending meetings at the conference with political leaders and over 1,000 Asian business leaders from all over the world. Unfortunately, due to meetings requiring her vote, our ambassador had to miss this year’s Dragonboat Race at Haulover Park where our Sunny Dragons won first place in their division.

Having family in Taiwan makes it easier for our ambassador to leave the home she loves in Sunny Isles Beach. While in Taiwan, Mrs. Oliver attended art classes, explored the shores and hiked the mountains, meeting world travelers while comparing Sunny Isles Beach similarities, differences and mutual benefits with the island people of Taiwan.

Walking in the same direction with an offer to join her, the Italian couple shared a story of their home. Ironically, Taormina, Sicily is their birthplace. They were happy to become friends and hear of our other sister cities of Netanya, Israel and Hengchun Taiwan.

“It’s a small world and it was a long trip,” Ambassador Oliver said, adding “It’s great to be home in Sunny Isles Beach!”
