Because Breakfast Doesn’t Take a Summer Vacation

Florida Medical Center is pleased to announce that it donated 50,636 servings of cereal to the Boys and Girls Club, a  member of the Feeding America network during its Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive, which ran from June 2-9, 2017.

“Good nutrition is essential to good health, and we wanted to help lead the fight against hunger in Broward County. The donations we collected during our ‘Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive’ will help provide local children and adults struggling with hunger with a healthy breakfast during the summer, and I am so grateful for the support of our staff and community in this effort,” said Trey Abshier, chief executive officer of Florida Medical Center.

“Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County strives to have a significant impact on members and their families through supplementing household grocery budgets and teaching youth the importance of a healthy diet and exercise. Through the support of Florida Medical Center and its parent company, Tenet Healthcare, we are able to do just that with the donation of this cereal during the summer. Great partners allow us to go farther and truly affect change in the homes of families who need help,” said Brian Quail, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
