Join the city’s annual Halloween celebration on Friday and Saturday, October 24 & 25, 2014 from 7:00 – 10:00 PM. Tour our famous two-level haunted house – inhabited by ghosts, goblins and other ghouls.
If haunted houses are not your thing, watch a performance by the Rainbow Circus at the main stage on the baseball field and visit the gymnasium to play monster games. This event also features rides for the children, photo opportunities and food for sale. A pumpkin decorating contest is scheduled for Friday night at the pumpkin patch on the baseball field.
Entries for the annual costume contest will be accepted both Friday and Saturday night. Voting will commence on October 27 and end October 30. This year the voting will be held via the city’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/City of Sunny Isles Beach. Be sure to visit the page and like your favorite costume. Prizes for the winning costumes will be awarded on Halloween night (October 31st).
New this year is the free, TEENS ONLY, Halloween Dance Party event (must have high school ID to enter). The location is at Pelican Community Park, Raanan Katz Sports Center (Gymnasium), from 7:30 – 10:30 pm on October 31st. While their teenage siblings dance the night away, little brothers and sisters and their parents will enjoy a showing of Casper the Friendly Ghost on the baseball field. Pre-movie activities begin at 7:30 pm with the movie showing at 8:00 pm.
Do not delay, avoid long lines by purchasing your Booogie wristbands beginning Wednesday, October 1st at Pelican Community Park and the SIB Government Center desks. The wristbands are good for all rides and are priced at $5 for SIB Resident ID Card Holders and $10 all others. Each trip through the Haunted House is $1, a separate fee from the Booogie wristbands.
As with every special event, the free SIB Community Shuttle Bus will provide transportation from around the city to the event that evening. For questions call 305-792-1706.
