On December 13 the Holiday Ball was held in a new venue in order to accommodate the growing number of attendees. The Phyllis & Raanan Katz Sports Center Gymnasium was transformed into a winter wonderland by City staff. Floor coverings, drapes and clever lighting changed the space into a glamorous ballroom. Beautiful, projected snowflake lights were shown on the walls; trees and tinsel graced the tables. Guests enjoyed good Italian food and popular tunes from the band. Gloria Taft said, “The ambience was so beautiful that you didn’t even know you were in a gym.”
