Kapow! JCS Alliance turns to Batman to help Meals on Wheels Program

Diana Berenson with daughter Jacqueline Berenson, JCS Alliance Co-Chair

Over 180 members and friends of the JCS Alliance, Jewish Community Services’ young professionals group, recently sipped wines from around the world while exploring the unique exhibits of the Dezer Automobile Collection, Miami’s newest attraction of one-of-a-kind vehicles such as miniature and Hollywoodthemed cars. Guests at this kosher wine-tasting event had their photos taken in the original Batmobile and participated in raffles for prizes such as a ride in a Hollywood vehicle, half cases of wine and gift certificates from local establishments.

Proceeds from the evening went to JCS’ Kosher Meals on Wheels Program, which annually serves 150,000 nutritionally balanced meals to nearly 650 elderly homebound recipients, many of whom are Holocaust survivors. Event Chairs Hinda Adler, Michelle Diener, Roberta Esquenazi, Sherri Lebwohl and Courtney Lenner were gratified by the support from the community for this vital service benefiting frail seniors, calling the event “a spectacular success that brought Miami’s young professional community together for a great cause.”

In addition to Meals on Wheels, JCS annually provides nearly 75,000 meals to seniors at five congregate meals sites and helps over 600 adults and children through the JCS Kosher Food Bank.
