Music Month is here in Sunny Isles Beach!

Amernet-FULL-135-_1_-660x270Inspired by the City’s highly successful annual “Beethoven on the Beach” event, the Sunny Isles Beach Foundation, in partnership with the City, will offer a month of musical performances free to the public.

Some of the free public performances include an “Evening with Ian Maksin & Goran Ivanovic on Thursday March 10th in Heritage Park at 7 PM. World- renowned guitarist and cellist Ivanovic & Maksin appeal to broad audiences by playing music from every genre- folk music to Tango to the music of Sting-to make a different kind of sound. The dynamic duo is being presented by Orchestra Miami, whose Founder and Artistic Director is Elaine Rinaldi. Orchestra Miami’s ultimate goals match the Foundation’s goal- to bring neighbors together and enhance their overall quality of life with high-quality classical symphonic music!

Another exciting event for the young residents occurring during March Music Month is “Peter & Pizza” – a performance of Peter & the Wolf -at the Norman S. Edelcup K-8 school on March 16th at 6 PM accompanied by after performance pizza. Peter & the Wolf is both a musical composition and a children’s story (music and text by Sergei Prokofiev), spoken by a narrator accompanied by an orchestra. In this case the music will be performed by the world renowned Amernet String Quartet and the story narrated by no other than Dr. Deborah Briggs, arts educator and Vice President of Philanthropy for the world famous Betsy Hotel-South Beach.

The Amernet String Quartet plans to perform several events in the City of Sunny Isles Beach during the month of March including some small private music salons being offered in three of the City’s magnificent condominium buildings on the East Side of Collins. The Foundation is attempting to draw out some of the City’s new residents who have yet to participate in the City’s events.

Finally, for the public’s enjoyment and one of the most fun parts of March Music Month will be a couple of surprise pop-up events occurring in parks around the City.
