Shoppers, drivers and pedestrians all win with the completion of another city project

Shoppers, drivers and pedestrians all win with the completion of another city projectYour next drive or walk at the intersection of 183 Street and Collins Avenue is sure to be safer and less stressful. In a partnership with RK Plaza, the City recently completed a curb cut just south of 183 Street that will allow easier access to CVS, Burger King, BB&T and all the other various shops and restaurants in that shopping center. Now, southbound traffic can pull right into the plaza without first turning on 183 Street. The congestion of those trying to exit the plaza in front of CVS should be gone as southbound travelers can easily go right on to Collins Avenue without fighting the 183rd Street traffic and waiting for the light.

After only one week in operation, the compliments are coming in. Instead of honking horns and near misses, parents are commending the City for making that area more organized which equals safer for pedestrians. Congratulations to the Commission for good planning and to Raanan Katz for his support. And bravo to City Engineer Helen Gray and the Public Works Department for working with FDOT and the contractor to get this accomplished. This project is a winner for all of us!
