SIB Promoted in Montreal, Canada at Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce North America

Sunny Isles Beach (SIB) Vice Mayor Lewis Thaler and SIB resident Fang Oliver the upcoming Vice President of Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Miami (TCCM) and owner of Fang Oliver International Realty attended the conference in Montreal, Canada at Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce North America (TCCNA) Conference. The 23rd annual conference was three days of meetings from June 24th to June 27th with three buses and fourteen days of tours following the meetings.

At the convention, Fang Oliver introduced Sunny Isles Beach to over 480 Taiwanese business owners and politicians from USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Central and South America. The presentation included a slide show featuring 500 beautiful SIB pictures and promotional giveaways including 132 Titleist golf balls, 480 SIB luggage tags, post cards, pencils and Baklava pastry favors for everyone.

TCCNA members were impressed with the beauty, story and hospitality of Sunny Isles Beach. Vice Mayor Thaler, a frequent visitor to Taiwan was honored guest speaker and welcomed all TCCNA members to visit Sunny Isles Beach where Taiwanese leaders are already invested in our SIB lifestyle.

Members are pleased to learn of the Sunny Isles Beach participation in the 9th annual Dragon Boat Race Festival. Where Taiwanese, Chinese and junior members will join this upcoming festival held in Haulover Park on Saturday, September 24th. Dragon boat teams from Montreal and around the USA will compete. The festival entrance is free and all are welcome to enjoy the stage entertainment, traditional foods and races. A simultaneous classic Auto show is planned at the festival.

At the conference, current World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (WTCC) Chairperson Mr. Lu arrived from South Africa with the next chairperson candidates from Malaysia, and Australia campaigning during this convention for the next WTCC chairperson election in Taipei, Taiwan this October.

Minister Wu, Ying-Yi, Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission Minister is pleased to assist in selection of a SIB/Taiwan sister city, saying Taiwan’s economy is taking off dramatically, especially tourism, transit, development and technology. Taiwan is democratic country with no dollar limitation for investment in the USA. The 13,903 square mile island has a population of 23 million. In 2010, Taiwan’s economic growth topped 10%, the highest rate in almost 30 years. International trade jumped more than 39% to US $526.04 billion; and the job market has turned a rosy picture with most businesses set to recruit. As a result, IMF estimated Taiwan’s 2010 GDP per capita at over US $34700, surpassing that of Finland, France and Japan all at once. Taiwan also shows her humanity to Japan by donating over $30 million to help Japan March 11th, 2011 earthquake.

This year seven million visitors are expected to visit Taiwan when Taiwan celebrates their 100th Independence Day. Fang Oliver Int’l Realty team will attend the celebrations and promote Sunny Isles Beach with opportunity to meet Taiwan country President and Mayors for promoting mutual commerce and culture exchanges.

The WTCC was established in September 1994 as a federation of the world’s Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce to promote the exchange of business information. It is the umbrella body that is structured over the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in North America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Central & South America, and Oceania, encompassing more than 56 countries and covering more than 100 metropolitan areas with a combined total membership exceeding 50,000 people.

Chairperson of TCCNA, Mr. Su, and newly elected Chairperson Jeff Yao from Chicago recognize the Taiwanese Youth serve as the Chambers’ future. Therefore, new Taiwanese Junior Chambers of Commerce divisions have been established and funded all over the world. The Miami Juniors Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce love the beach and recently held their first event in Trump Towers on Sunny Isles Beach. Winnie Tang and Fang Oliver recently accepted a city Proclamation designating each May as Asian Pacific Heritage Month in Sunny Isles Beach.

In October, Mrs. Fang Oliver will join a Miami delegation to attend the WTCC meetings in Taiwan for the 2011, 100th Anniversary of Republic of Taiwan democracy celebrations. The Taiwan Chamber of Commerce Miami has donated for a section of a local park with plants labeled and designated in a “Dragon Cactus, Orchid & Butterfly Garden”.
