For the City of Sunny Isles Beach, 2012 was filled with many firsts, including our first ever Sunny Isles Beach Talent Show. The City’s inaugural Talent Show brought out the best of the best in Sunny Isles Beach with more than 30 applicants and 22 performances. In comparison this year’s show, which took place on Saturday, September 21st at Heritage Park, continued to build on that success. We received more than 50 applications in a wide variety of performance categories and ages, with 32 performances that night. Who knew that there was so much hidden talent in our World Class City!
The stage was set, lights checked, and an abundance of performers were ready for their chance to take the stage. Long hours of planning, coordinating, and scheduling all paid off as the first performer took the stage.
The performers ranged from just five years old to sixty and older. The variety of talent present in the show displayed just how much the event had grown from one year to the next. Expanding from dancers, singers, and pianist, this year’s show also featured an original poetry recital, flamenco dancing, modern dance, a five-piece band, original artists, and even a traditional comedic musical performance from Russia. With so much growth in one year, we cannot wait to see what the City’s 3rd Annual Talent Show will have in store for us next year.
A big thank you goes out to this year’s judges: Pianist Ofelia Biancuzzo, Artist Beatriz Alcantara and Miss Teen USA from SIB, Tiffany Rivera. Professionalism and thoughtful choices of the judges keep our SIB Talent Show to a higher standard that will inspire performers to return and participate year after year.
