The South Florida Youth Symphony

The South Florida Youth Symphony keeps Classical Music Alive for many students that normally would not have the opportunity to experience touring and performing in major concert halls, and competition venues at home and across the country. Each season for the past 47 years, over 200 students select the South Florida Youth Symphony for their musical training and career growth. The program offers training in all strings from beginners to advanced players in Suzuki method and traditional , three orchestra levels, keyboard, classical guitar, private instructions on other instruments and pre music discovery classes for the younger musicians.

With the support of Miami Dade College, at North Campus, students can meet together every Sunday afternoon during the school year in a wonderful educational setting to prepare for the yearly concerts and events that help develop them into the music teachers, performers, composers and arts advocates for tomorrow. It’s time now to start planning for the future. Enrollment has begun for the new 2012-13 season. Summer music camps, which serve as a stepping stone to greater musical knowledge and development, are filling up quickly. The Youth Symphony will be a part of the New Music presentation at “Festival Miami” in the fall and students are urged to audition now for their chance to participate in this for more information and incredible event in South Florida.
