Travel around the world with MCM one day camps

Spring One Day Camp themes and dates at Miami Children’s Museum were announced recently.

One Day Camps are offered throughout the year at the Miami Children’s Museum on teacher planning days. Children will explore and discover a different country at each of the camps beginning with Portugal on Jan. 25. Children will learn different folk dances and listen to traditional music, design original tile mosaics, taste delicious Portuguese sweet treats, and participate in a friendly game of soccer.

One Day Camp on Feb. 16 will explore the Tet Festival of Vietnam. Children will learn and discover the traditional rituals and beliefs of this New Year’s Festival. They will create a mask to ward off evil spirits; artistically design a firework display with mixed media; taste traditional foods eaten during the New Year, and enjoy an ancient Vietnamese folk tale performed by the MCM Players.

Look out for more information on the remaining One Day Camp dates — Apr. 8 and June 10 where children will explore the countries of Australia and Finland.

Explore the world through One Day Camps at Miami Children’s Museum, 980 MacArthur Causeway on Watson Island in Miami. Fees for the Camps are $45 for members, $50 for non-members for each day. Before and after camp care is also available for an additional fee.
