[dropcap]L[/dropcap]ongtime Miami Heat Rival Rajon Rondo point guard for the Boston Celtics had surgery this morning after falling in the shower last night according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. The Celtics questioned Rondo’s explanation multiple times but stand behind his freak shower accident taking precaution before releasing the bad news.

This comes a month after USC’S Football player Josh Shaw sprained both his ankles and lied painting a heroic story that went viral and turned ugly. The four-time All-Star is expected to be out from anywhere to four to six weeks breaking a left metacarpal bone. The broken bone is in the back of his hand not the knuckle so a physical altercation is not apparent. We all know the NBA does not want to steal any of the NFL’s thunder. Doubters of his explanation took it to twitter to voice their opinion.

How do the Boston Celtics move on?

Celtics have a young prospect in their first round draft pick Marcus Smart out of Oklahoma State. Smart was not expected to get many reps in training camp, with Rondo’s absence this helps develop the rookie quicker.

Missing 95 games the past two seasons mostly from an ACL tear in the beginning of 2013. Celtic officials admired Rondo’s shape and felt he was due for career high performance this upcoming  ‘14-’15 NBA Season.
