On Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 7 a.m., the brank new Publix in West Miami will open its doors to welcome customers and pass on the Publix spirit.
The new store will offer customers 45,000 square feet of shopping pleasure. In addition to the traditional grocery, produce, meat, dairy and frozen food departments, the store will feature the following full-service departments: bakery, deli, floral, fresh seafood, sushi and custom cut meats. The store also features a conveniently located parking garage attached to the store. The deli will serve traditional offerings such as Publix subs, fried chicken and rotisserie chicken and has been expanded to include freshly prepared foods, handcrafted sandwiches featuring Boar’s Head meats, signature subs, and a hot soup bar featuring gourmet soups daily. The deli will also offer a Hot Bar featuring Pan Asian favorites like Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Vegetable Lo-Mein and more. Sushi is also available and made fresh daily. Customers can visit the Café conveniently located at the front of the store. It features popular favorites such as coffees, espressos, lattes, and assorted pastries. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area and free Wi-Fi service available.
The grocery aisles have been expanded to allow for an extended product offering of natural and organic foods and ethnic foods.
Approximately 150 Publix associates will be employed at the new store.
Store Manager Freddy Cazanove looks forward to welcoming customers to their new Publix. During construction, Cazanove served as store manager at Publix at Airpark Plaza and has 30 years of service with Publix. “We are so excited to open our doors and can’t wait for our long time customers at this location to see all the enhancements their new Publix has to offer,” said Nicole Krauss, Publix’s Miami media and community relations manager. “We anticipate that our customers will be very pleased with the state-of-the-art design, additional space, products and services offered.”
The first 1,500 customers on grand opening day will receive a customized free Publix reusable bag and $100 gift card raffle will take place in store every day for the first week. Celebrations will continue for the first 21 days with special events, activities, in-store tastings and gift card raffles.
