American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA), Israel’s 911, will hold its Annual Diamond Circle Hanukkah Dinner Party on Sunday, December 5th at 6:30 p.m. at Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center. During the special evening of cocktails, dinner, and dancing, generous annual donors will be recognized.
This year, Judy and Monroe Milstein of Bal Harbour will be presented with the AFMDA Humanitarian of the Year Award. Through their gifts of time, labor and love, they embody and personify the true spirit of giving and have demonstrated a purpose of spirit and a dedication of doing good deeds.
“If there is anyone who embodies the words from the Talmud, ‘Whoever saves a single life is said to have saved the entire world,’ it is Judy and Monroe Milstein,” said Ira Mogitz, director of development.
Their recent gift of a Mobile Intensive Care Unit Ambulance, stationed in the embattled city of Sderot, has alleviated pain and suffering and saved countless lives. Recently it was used to welcome a new life, one of a baby girl. There can be no greater mitzvah.
“God has been so good to us,” said Judy Milstein. “Supporting this wonderful organization is our way of giving back,” Monroe said passionately.”
American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) supports the life saving efforts of Magen David Adom (MDA), which provides Israel’s pre-hospital emergency medical needs, including disaster, ambulance and blood services.
