“We are committed to enriching our community, and providing children and their families the opportunity to enjoy these renovated parks for generations to come, is an inspiration to our entire organization.” Garfinkel said.
The donation will improve both parks with the creation of a new outdoor exercise station, re-sodding of the practice field, expansion of the walking trail and new fencing around the park perimeter. Additionally, a new landscaping and irrigation system will be installed along with a new video surveillance system. Furthermore, the Miami Dolphins Play 60 logo will be displayed at the entrance throughout both parks, which are within a five-mile radius of Sun Life Stadium.
“It’s always good to have partners in the community that understand the value of open space, exercise, recreation and communal gathering,” Mayor Gilbert said. “The City of Miami Gardens is appreciative of the Dolphins’ contribution as it will add to our continued efforts to incentivize activity and provide an extraordinary parks system for our residents.”
