The launch event for 2015 Miami Walk Now for Autism Speaks will take place on Thursday, Jan. 29, 6:30 p.m., at the Hilton Miami Airport, 5101 Blue Lagoon Dr.
The launch event is a free informative dinner for those interested in learning about Autism Speaks and participating in its signature fundraising event, Walk Now for Autism Speaks.
All members of the community are invited to attend to learn how they can spread awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism and raise much needed funds for Autism Speaks’ research, advocacy and family services programs. Participants can pick up Walk materials, share team building and fundraising ideas and meet with committee members.
This year’s Miami Walk Now for Autism Speaks event will take place on Sunday, Apr. 19. The Miami Walk events bring together over 28,000 individuals with autism, their families, friends and supporters annually across Miami-Dade County.
Autism spectrum disorder is now diagnosed in 1 in every 68 children, including 1 in 42 boys, making it the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
The Walk Now for Autism Speaks events are the signature fundraising events for Autism Speaks, drawing hundreds of thousands of participants in more than 100 cities across the North America to support autism research, awareness and advocacy.
