[dropcap]O[/dropcap]n behalf of the relatively new Palmetto High School Alumni Association, I am calling on all those who have attended or whose children, family members or neighbors have attended Palmetto High, located here in the heart of Pinecrest. Even if you are one of the many residents or businesses that has been directly or indirectly involved or benefitted by the high school, the Alumni Association seeks your involvement, membership and sponsorship.
The Association’s mission is to advance the interests and fellowship of the students and faculty of Palmetto by providing financial support for academic programs and school activities. There is an immediate opportunity for you to become a sponsor of an upcoming fundraising event to benefit the Palmetto Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. This upcoming event will be held on Feb. 26 in the beautiful Banyan Bowl at Pinecrest Gardens and features our very own Palmetto graduate and impresario Ron McGill, as he discusses a topic close to my heart, Sex and the Animals. There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres and an open cash bar.
Please plan to attend and, importantly also if you can, become a sponsor. Sponsors will receive public recognition and we all know that it is for a great cause. Last year, Alumni Association awarded $1,500 scholarships to two of the school’s exemplary 2014 graduating seniors. We are trying to do much better this year. Please let others know and feel free to forward this email to all known Palmetto High School graduates and anyone else you think may be interested.
