The Town of Cutler Bay Neighborhood Resource Unit (NRU) of the Miami- Dade Police Department recently collected 250 gifts and distributed them to underprivileged children.
During a Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m., toys that had been gathered by the police with an assist from area residents were distributed to children in the neighborhoods of Cantamar. Adding to the fun was a bounce house, face painting, a train ride and of course Santa Claus. Coordinators of the party were Pam Lucken and Maxine Hermida.
Brightening the lives of kids who need their spirits lifted is an annual activity of the Cutler Bay NRU.
