XV Crosstrek has a raised ride height, body-color roof spoiler and unique 17-inch wheels to give it a rugged, go-anywhere look.

The 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek is a neat little versatile, fun-to-drive, five-door CUV with a very capable chassis that easily accommodates off-road adventure.

Subaru offers three versions of the Crosstrek, adding the 2.0i base trim to the line that also includes the 2.0i Premium and the 2.0i Limited model with additional luxury amenities and user technology. Also available is the Crosstrek Hybrid model.

Crosstrek comes with Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, high ground clearance (8.7 inches), 17-inch alloy wheels and plenty of room for passengers and cargo. It is one of the most fuel-efficient all-wheeldrive crossover utility vehicles available, delivering 34 mpg on the highway.

Crosstrek looks the part of a rugged crossover and backs up its appearance with proven Subaru capability. Black side- and wheel-arch cladding, rocker spoiler and roof rails add a rugged contrast to the body color.

The raised ride height, body-color roof spoiler and unique-design 17-inch wheels give the Crosstrek a go-anywhere look. Dark-tint privacy glass is standard.

With a raised four-wheel independent suspension, Crosstrek’s 8.7 inches of ground clearance is higher than most other crossovers and even some dedicated SUVs, yet the XV Crosstrek has a low step-in height. High-strength suspension components enhance agility and hydraulic engine mounts (with CVT) help damp out vibration.

The double-wishbone rear suspension has pillow ball bushings for an optimal blend of ride comfort, straight-line stability, handling agility and vehicle response.

Under the hood, there’s a 2.0-liter Subaru BOXER engine that uses aluminum for the cylinder block and heads. The long-stroke configuration enhances torque across the engine speed range. A dual overhead-cam (DOHC) configuration features Dual Active Valve Control System (DAVCS) — variable valve control for both intake and exhaust valves — also optimizing torque delivery.

The engine produces 148 hp at 6,200 rpm and 145 pound-feet of peak torque at 4,200 rpm. Electric power steering reduces draw on engine power.

The BOXER engine is teamed with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive through a fivespeed manual transmission or an available Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The EyeSight driver assist system is available for 2.0i Premium and 2.0i Limited models, and are equipped with new Steering-Responsive Fog Lights that activate independently to provide better illumination in the direction the vehicle turns. When equipped with EyeSight, the 2.0i Limited also comes with Keyless Access with Push-Button Start and STARLINK 7.0 Multimedia Navigation.

The 2015 XV Crosstrek also debuts three new STARLINK Multimedia systems. Anew standard STARLINK 6.2 Multimedia system in the 2.0i and 2.0i Premium provides a multitude of music and information sources, all through a 6.2-in. multi-function touch screen display with single-touch gesture control. The display also functions for the new standard Rear Vision Camera.

The MSRP on the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek is $24,145.
