In other news, Brain Freeze, a very popular new business in Doral located off N.W. 41 St. and 107 Ave. behind DiVieto held its official ribbon cutting May 27. The affair attracted a large crowd of fans and others ready to sample what has already become a favorite ice cream gathering place. On hand to help Christi Fraga with the ceremony were fellow City of Doral Council members Mayor Luigi Boria, and Council members Ana Maria Rodriguez and Pete Cabrera. If you haven’t tried this amazing ice cream, freshly made just for you in front of your very eyes, you are in for a real treat with flavors to satisfy any palate. They even have yogurt and sugar-free options, all unique and superb.
While Brain Freeze celebrated its opening, OrthoNow just marked its Fifth Anniversary with a large party May 20. Dr. Badia and OrthoNow have been DBC members since opening in Doral and have provided incredible resource for our South Florida community. Congratulations on a great five years!
PARK (Perform Acts of Radom Kindness) Advisory Council enjoyed an Appreciation Breakfast get-together at Park Grove in Coconut Grove. Many may remember PARK founder Marly Q who orchestrated the 5K Freedom Run at JC Bermudez Park years ago. Sadly no longer in held in Doral, the race has grown to benefit multiple charities and will be held Oct. 3 on Virginia Key. Charities wishing to participate may register as a non-profit and receive one-half of the registration fees their team collects for their own charity. For any non-profit thinking about holding a 5K to raise funds, think again. This is a way to have a race for your charity with no risk and a few Doral charities are already planning to sign up. For more information visit www.5KParkFest.org.
The Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Miami whose offices are in Coral Gables hosted a VIP cooking demonstration and tasting at San Ignacio College for the Doral Overseas Chinese Business Chamber in conjunction with the Overseas Community Affairs Council of the Republic of China (Taiwan) May 26. A cocktail reception followed the demonstration by international award-winning Asian gourmet chef Pan Meng-jen and chef Tsai Wan-Litop, flown here from Taiwan to create dishes for several events, including the Sixth Annual Asian Gourmet Gala May 30 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Doral. More than 100 guests gathered for affair that included a seven-course dinner, music, dancing, and a silent auction. (More on that in next issue).
Until next time, keep making each day count.
