This is a free event that not only features great cars but so much more. Food is available with proceeds benefitting the Rotary Club of Coral Gables veterans programs. The band, Zero Defect, is also returning to everyone’s delight with music that is sure to make you want to dance. Now that the weather is cooler, we should all take advantage of these great outdoor events.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, 7:30 p.m., singers are invited to attend a Ladies Guest Night with Goldcoast Chorus for an evening of harmony and friendship at the Dice House at Continental Park, 10000 SW 82 Ave., Miami, FL 33156. This chorus, under the direction of Iris Cokeroft, enjoys producing beautiful harmonies in the barbershop style while continuing to learn vocal skills to improve as singers. They meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. For more information, email Goldcoastshowchorus@gmail.com or call 305-974-6334.

Walks and races are abundant this time of year. One relatively new race on the scene is the Holiday Family Fun Day 5K Race presented by Mitchell & West, LLC, scheduled for 7:30 a.m., Saturday, December 5. Held in front of Coral Gables City Hall, the park lends itself to the various fun activities on hand for the children that morning. Look for cash prizes, trophies and awards for racers in multiple divisions. Best of all, the proceeds will benefit the Alzheimers Association. Miami’s Community Newspapers will be on hand as will several other businesses supporting this cause. Those interested in participating should visit www.familyfunday5k.com.

Also the Arthritis walk is coming up on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Amelia Earhart Park at 8:30 am. This is a beautiful park and a bit of a drive from Pinecrest but well worth the effort. Several local teams will be participating and when you sign up, check them out to join a team you know or start your own. To support this event and sign up, visit http://walktocurearthritis.miami.kintera.org.

Finally, Pinecrest Gardens is always a happening place for so many great events. Family Fun Night, only $5, is coming up Friday, Nov. 6, with the movie Boxtrolls, an animated movie that has received rave reviews and should be good evening out with the kids. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and movie starts at 8 p.m.

Until next time, keep making each day count.
