2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider

The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is dangerous. Not because it isn’t safe, but because it’s an incredible sports car that is also quite affordable in comparison to other vehicles of its class and quality.

It’s fast, powerful and the Spider’s design is sure to turn heads. After riding the Spider, which is best summed up to be like a $60,000 Ferrari, you’ll want to pinch pennies saving up for it.

This is definitely not a car for those seeking something practical, nor is it for the faint of heart. The 2015 Alfa Romeo Spider is a tiny, but fearsome monster, tearing through roadways with an audible snarl. When sitting behind the wheel, you have to restrain yourself at every red light from punching the gas as soon as it turns green.

Riding the Spider is pretty much the most fun you can have going 0-35mph because of its rapid acceleration and powerful engine. The Spider boasts a 0-60 time of 4.1 seconds and 237 horse power thanks to its 1.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which, is mounted behind passenger seating. Its top speed is 160 mph.

Aside from the Spider’s speed capabilities, another feature that cannot be ignored is its interesting design. Its exterior screams “exotic” and has the great option of rolling down its ragtop that fits in the Spider’s trunk, perfect for nice days on the highway. There is also an option for a carbon-fiber removable hardtop.

Inside, the designers did as much as possible to keep the Spider light, about 2,500 pounds light, to be exact, so there aren’t many bells and whistles in the Spider’s interior but leather seating does come standard. Its weight is crucial, as it contributes to the Spider’s speed and fast acceleration. What Alfa Romeo values here, is speed, weight and power, and it shows. For those in the market for a sports car, these are generally the most important features, anyhow.

That being said, the Alfa is indeed very tiny, and is perhaps not the best idea for a day-to-day car as it is not practical.

There is only enough space for you, and one more passenger if you don’t mind getting cozy with them. It is not recommended for road trips or the long hauls, although taking it for long rides on an open road is very tempting.

Groceries may be a hassle as the trunk is a tiny cubby-like compartment behind the engine. If you’re just shopping for one, however, the trunk is pretty doable.

If you’re an avid sports car lover and don’t mind these relatively minor limitations, the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is an incredible car with an attractive price tag. Those who are fans of the much-loved Lotus Elise will especially love the Spider, as they share a lot in common as far as looks and build.

Alfa Romeo’s 2015 Spider is a fast, agile little sports car that definitely gives other more expensive vehicles a run for their money. A day of driving in the Spider and you’ll be convinced you won’t have to spend a couple hundred thousand dollars to get an incredible and attractive sports car.

The MSRP for the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is $63,900.
