‘Chili in the Village’ and great family films

‘Chili in the Village’ and great family films“Chili in the Village” at Pinecrest Gardens, on Saturday February 6, will determine the winner of the Florida State Chili Championship for 2016.

It’s a family-friendly country hoe-down Pinecrest-style at our 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off, Saturday, February 6th, however, this year’s ICS (International Chili Society) sanctioned event will determine the Florida State Chili Champion — making it a food-favored event you won’t want to miss.

Live country music band, line-dancing, mechanical bull riding, Heat Dancers, a delicious selection of food, chili sampling. Games and prizes provided by our media partner WKIS-FM Radio and craft beers from our sponsor, Wynwood Brewery. You can even enter an old fashioned hands-tied-behind- your-back, pieeating contest.

Though this event is sanctioned by the International Chili Society and the primary competition is for professional chili cooks, we will also be hosting an amateur cook-off. So if you happen to be a home-grown chili master with a secret family recipe, it’s not too later to enter!

Visit our website at pinecrestgardens.org for information on participation and your application. The event runs from noon until 4:00 p.m., general admission is $5 (children under 2, Pinecrest Gardens Members and active military enter the festival free of charge.
