Palmer Trinity School (PTS) student Isabella Gomez won the Best Overall category for her submission in Youth Service America’s (YSA) Global Goals Poster Contest.
“Isabella is a talented student, and we are proud she has used her creative skills to shine a further light on the need for gender equality and the empowerment of women,” Dr. Manjula Salomon said.
Launched in 2015, the contest challenges students to think critically about the Sustainable Development Goals and to create an illustration through photography, drawing, painting or graphics. The overall goal of the contest is to demonstrate how youths will “lead us to a better future.”
YSA’s Global Goals contest received hundreds of submissions from 24 countries around the world, covering all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. YSA is a resource center that partners with thousands of organizations that are committed to increasing the quality and quantity of volunteer opportunities for young people ages 5-25 to serve locally, nationally and globally.
Founded in 1986, YSA supports a global culture of engaged children and youth committed to a lifetime of meaningful service, learning, and leadership. With half the world’s population under age 25, its mission is to help all young people find their voice, take action, and make an impact on vital community issues.
