Palmer Trinity School (PTS) junior and volleyball player Ashley Quero was presented with a Copa Dorada (Golden Cup Award) and recognized as an Outstanding Hispanic High School Athlete during the Premios Copa Dorada this month. She also was honored with this year’s People’s Choice Award, having received more than 3,000 votes as the county’s Most Popular Athlete.
“We are so proud of Ashley for having been recognized as the talented and dedicated student athlete that she is. She serves as a great example to her fellow students,” said Patrick Roberts, Palmer Trinity head of school.
Premios Copa Dorada is a sports awards luncheon created to honor the top Hispanic athletes in Miami-Dade County. This community-focused event, established in 1988, recognizes talented locals for their athletic achievements. Among the nominees are various levels of competitors from youth leagues to professional athletes, featured in categories including: Youth, High School, College, and Pros.
