A Palmer Trinity School (PTS) seventh grader, Marissa Tannebaum, was selected as the winner of the 2016 WLRN/O, Miami ZipOde poetry project.

Marissa’s poem was one of more than 1,100 submissions. Participants were asked to memorialize their federally appointed numerical designations by writing an ode to their ZIP code.

As the winner of the Miami ZipOde project, Marissa was invited to read her poem at The Kampong tropical botanical garden in Coconut Grove as part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival.

“We warmly congratulate Marissa on her winning poem, and for being included as part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival. Nothing gives us more pride than seeing our students being recognized for their talents and creativity,” said Patrick Roberts, Palmer Trinity head of school.
