The one-act comedy play Oh What A Tangled Web is set for 7 p.m. performances on Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church, 14401 Old Cutler Rd. in Palmetto Bay.
The event brings back a much-loved community outreach by the church from several years ago in which hundreds of folks were entertained by the often hilarious, and sometimes serious, performances from talented actors and actresses who volunteer their time and expertise.
“The play is about a young girl, who on impulse, makes up a story and the complications that result from it are extremely funny,” said Kendra Tarnell, the show’s director and a member of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church. “Needing an excuse, the girl blurts out that there has been a death in the family. The only thing wrong in this family is that the cat is missing. And it goes wildly and humorously on from there.”
Dr. Michael Campbell, senior pastor of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church said, “The church is delighted to present this dramatic comedy program to the community, and I hope folks will take advantage of both the performances and the dinner theater. It’s sure to be a fun and memorable evening for the entire family.”
Oh What A Tangled Web was written by John R. Carroll, who published his first play when he was age 15. The Enchanted Bicycle was printed in Plays magazine, and a playwright was born. His plays have been produced and published throughout the United States, Great Britain and Australia.
