Miami Christian School celebrates alumni who are pursuing their dreams. One such alumnus, Johnny Rez, Miami Christian graduate of the Class of 2008, is making it big having been recently chosen as a contestant on “The Voice” this season airing on NBC. Johnny has been performing for many years and his band won “Battle of the Bands,” when he attended FIU. Tune in this season to see our local talent perform.
While Miami Christian School distinguished itself as being the only school, public or private, in Miami Dade County to have four varsity teams reach Regional Semi-Finals last year, they are off to another great start. Last years teams in the spotlight were Bowling, Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Basketball, and Baseball. This year’s teams are already in the forefront include the Girls’ Volleyball team and the Boys’ Bowling Team, both of whom are undefeated as of this writing, as well as cross country. Seventh grader, Josh Maya, distinguished himself coming in first place in a cross country meet beating all contestants form Archbishop Curley, Hebrew Academy RASG, and Westwood Christian.
In other MCS news, Miami Christian School 2017 Senior and basketball point guard, Eduardo Camacho, has committed to Central Connecticut State University, and will be receiving a full scholarship. That team is coached by ex NBA great Donyell Marshall.
