Delaney Reynolds, a senior at Palmer Trinity School (PTS), has been honored as one of 15 national winners of the 2016 Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes for founding the Sink or Swim Project to educate people about global warming and sea level rise.

The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes honors public-spirited young leaders ages 8-18 from across North America that have made a significant positive difference to people and the environment.

“The entire Palmer Trinity family is exceedingly proud of Delaney’s giving spirit and the work she is doing to help spread the word on the dangers of sea level rise,” said Patrick Roberts, head of school. “She merits the recognition, and we look forward to continue supporting her in her efforts.”

As one of the 15 winners, Delaney will be the recipient of $5,000 to support her service project, as well as media opportunities to help get her message across to an even wider audience.
