There are many great reasons to choose a career in public safety — whether your dream is to be a police officer, a firefighter or a 911 Emergency Operator. If your path in life is to be a public safety professional, consider working for the City of Coral Gables.
Llilian Berrios made that choice and the city is happy to welcome her to the Coral Gables family. She is joining the city as a Communications Operator Trainee. Berrios attended Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial High School in Miami and at age 16 began taking college courses at Miami-Dade College’s Wolfson Campus where she earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. She also has a Certification in Telecommunications for Police, Fire and Ambulance, which she earned in March.
If your dream is to become a Coral Gables Police Officer, the city is offering a $2,500 sign-up bonus for new recruits, as well as competitive salary and other benefits.
During her down time, Berrios likes to watch movies, read (especially poetry), boating and going to the beach.
She reminds us that, “if you ever come across any obstacles, don’t let them hinder you from achieving your goals.”
