By achieving an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, Coral Gables Hospital receives recognition as one of the safest hospitals in the United States.
The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, assigns “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” and “F” letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provides the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S.
“At Coral Gables Hospital, we have made patient safety and satisfaction a part of our culture,” said Patrick Downes, hospital CEO. “This recognition, for the eighth consecutive time, gives our patients confidence in the care they should expect to receive here.”
Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. The ratings are calculated by top patient safety experts and are fully transparent and free to the public.
“Protecting patients from harm is the most important charge for any hospital,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of the Leapfrog Group.
“We recognize and appreciate ‘A’ hospitals’ vigilance and continued dedication to keeping their patients safe.”
