Halloween isn’t always about candy.
During “Spooky Symphony,” The Children’s Trust’s free annual concert at the Adrienne Arsht Center on Saturday, Oct. 29, families were treated to seasonal classical music as well as musical scores from Star Wars and King Kong performed by local musicians with the Alhambra Orchestra and Greater Miami Youth Symphony.
James R. Haj, president and CEO of The Children’s Trust, welcomed families to a program of creepy classical scores. Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce President Mark Trowbridge served as emcee for the first of two performances, donning a variety of costumes and keeping the packed Knight Center entertained. WPLG10 reporter Amy Viteri emceed the second and performance.
“With gratitude to The Children’s Trust and their enduring commitment to our community, attendees enjoyed an afternoon of incredible orchestral music that inspired the senses, which is sweeter than any piece of Halloween candy,” said Trowbridge, who is also a member of The Children’s Trust board of directors.
