Doral Community Newspapers is pleased to endorse Claudia Mariaca in her election bid for Doral City Council Seat 1.
As a long-time Doral resident and PTA leader, Mariaca has devoted countless hours of service to local schools, where she has been key in securing much-needed grant funding for improvements. She is a motivated and dedicated leader, knowledgeable on Doral issues, and is committed to serving the citizens of this growing municipality.
Over the past 10 years, Mariaca has developed strong roots in Doral where she volunteers on multiple boards. She has served as District 5 Representative on the Miami-Dade County School Board Attendance & Boundary Committee; Director of the Doral Colony Homeowners Association; and PTA Board Member/PTSA President of John I. Smith K-8 School. She also has enjoyed a successful professional career in corporate marketing and product development.
As a councilwoman, Mariaca promises to focus on working with the community to continue developing Doral in a responsible manner, but also in a way that takes into account the city’s present and future needs – so as to preserve quality of life.
We agree with Mariaca that Doral deserves a government that is fully accountable and transparent. We agree she will be a strong voice for the hard-working residents of Doral. We believe she will bring a high level of integrity and honesty to local government.
Mariaca also will be strong on traffic, putting into place solutions that will not only ease congestion today, but help mitigate congestion tomorrow. Additionally, Public Safety will be one of her a top priorities, which is vital to keeping this growing community safe and sound.
Mariaca’s opponent in the run-off race for Seat 1, Adriana Moyano conducted a commendable campaign. She too believes Doral can do a better job representing the needs of citizens, but we believe Mariaca is better suited to fulfill this promise – due primarily to her demonstrated public leadership abilities.
Because of her proven commitment to the community, knowledge of the issues, and her desire to improve transparency, the City of Doral will be well served by electing Mariaca to Council Seat 1. For more information, visit www.mariaca2016.com or www.facebook.com/ClaudiaMariaca2016.
