Eliott Rodriguez, Emmy Award-winning news anchor for CBS4, will be the emcee for the 37th annual Biscayne Bay Gala, May 13, at the Conrad Hotel.
The fundraising gala for the Biscayne Bay Kiwanis, one of South Florida’s most active community service organizations, will honor Mario Murgado of Brickell Motors as the Michael Shores Citizen of the Year.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a dinner and live auction at 7:30 p.m.
“We are thrilled — and grateful — to have Eliott Rodriguez as our emcee,” said Biscayne Bay Kiwanis president Nellie Hernandez. “He is one of South Florida’s most respected and trusted journalists.”
Rodriguez, a graduate of the University of Miami and the anchor of the CBS4 News at noon and 6 p.m., has had a distinguished career spanning three decades, including coverage of major stories in the United States, Europe and Latin America. During his career, Rodriguez won two Emmy Awards and was the recipient of four Edward R. Murrow Awards for excellence in journalism.
“It’s an honor for me to serve as master of ceremonies of the 37th gala of this organization with a long history of community service,”Rodriguez said. “I look forward to learning more about the many contributions of the Biscayne Bay Kiwanis and spending time with their dedicated members.”
