Miami Beach yoga events and how to attend them

When you think about Miami, what is the first thing that comes to mind? If it’s not yoga, we aim to change that.

Think about it – golden sands, turquoise waters, palm trees swaying in the wind, and rosy sunrises and sunsets. Can you think of a better backdrop to become more zen and physically fit and enjoy the benefits of yoga?

Thought you’d agree! But, before you get started, there are some things that you should consider. For instance:

Remember to bring sunscreen

The ocean has a reflective quality that magnifies the power of the sun. Chances are, at some point in your practice you will be turning your face toward that ball of fire in the sky. While this feels great on the skin, it can also fry your face. Wearing sunscreen will help prevent sunburn.

Forego your yoga mat for a beach towel

When you get sweaty, the sand starts sticking to your body and things can get pretty uncomfortable fast. But, instead of opting for your yoga mat, use a beach towel instead.

Speaking of which, many of the venues on this list will provide you with supplies but, it’s better safe than sorry. Bring your own beach towel (and possibly other props) to guarantee your comfort.

When you look good you feel good

Yoga is all about feeling good. When you’re toning your body and stretching away stress, you exude a glow that makes makeup a moot point.

Your hair, on the other hand, is a different story and can become another winning tactic for your look. A cute updo can work wonders. Not only will it accentuate your beauty, it also keeps your hair out of your face when doing inversions.

Prepare to dig

Sand isn’t a level surface, which can make it challenging to do some poses. But, don’t give up hope. To overcome this issue, the solution is to simply twist your feet and dig them into the sand. This will give you the balance you need to truly get the most out of your practice on the beach.

Wear cool (and colorful) clothing

Have you ever worn head-to-toe Spandex to the beach? What was that experience like? Plastic clothing doesn’t breathe well so, it couldn’t have been too comfortable. Natural fabrics, on the other hand, will help you remain cool and in tune with Mother Nature. You may also want to jazz things up by wearing colorful yoga pants and adding some fun through colors into the yoga.

Bring your bathing suit along for the ride

One of the best things about doing yoga on the beach is that, after you’re finished, you can jump into the water and cool off. Doesn’t that sound like heaven? In fact, we daresay that the feel of the cool water on your skin after a vigorous workout is a treat that’s up there with chocolate.
