New location, same objective advocating for child abuse prevention
Amigos For Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect by strengthening families and educating communities, will host its premiere annual fundraiser, Miami Celebrity Domino Night on Saturday, June 16 at the University of Miami Student Center Complex in Coral Gables.
Recognized as South Florida’s most anticipated charitable summer event, Miami Celebrity Domino Night is an evening dedicated to raising funds and creating awareness about child abuse prevention. The night promises the best of the best with an exciting star-studded Blue Carpet, domino playing, open bar courtesy of presenting sponsor Bacardí U.S.A., a superb silent auction, live entertainment by multi Grammy Award winner Marlow Rosado and savory culinary fare courtesy of some of South Florida’s leading chefs and restaurants.
“We are excited to announce that our signature fundraising event, Miami Celebrity Domino Night has moved to a new location while keeping all the great fun elements that has made it an annual summer success,” said Amigos For Kids President and CEO, Rosa Maria Plasencia. “We are fortunate to serve a tremendously generous community, and alongside hundreds of celebrities, elected officials and amazing supporters, we will host the 16th edition of Domino Night at the University of Miami. We look forward to another memorable celebration that facilitates fulfilling our mission of child abuse prevention and helps educate millions about this national epidemic.”
The Amigos For Kids 2018 Miami Celebrity Domino Night will host more than 1,500 guests, including an array of South Florida media personalities, renowned television celebrities, elected officials and corporate leaders. Jacqueline Bracamontes and Erica Ender are two of this year’s Celebrity Hosts, and NBC6 Anchor and Amigos honorary board member, Jackie Nespral and WPLG’s Louis Aguirre will be the night’s Celebrity Emcee Hosts.
Iconic personalities from previous years include stars such as María Celeste Arrarás, Charytín, Gaby Espino, Emilio Estefan, Lili Estefan, Laura Flores, DJ Irie, Sofia Lachapelle, Adamari López, Johnny Lozada, Alicia Machado, Justina Machado, Carlos Ponce, Zuleyka Rivera, Teresa Rodriguez, Catherine Siachoque, Pamela Silva-Conde, Sonya Smith, Juan and Maki Soler, and Felipe Viel to name a few.
Tickets to this year’s event are $150 per person in advance, $175 per person at the door, and reserved domino tables of four are available for $1,000 each, in addition to sponsorship opportunities, with all proceeds benefitting Amigos For Kids.
Funds raised aid programs including the Jose Martí Park after-school program; the Amigos Strengthens Families & Communities Nurturing Parent program; the annual back-to-school and holiday toy drives, and the Amigos For Kids yearlong There’s NO Excuse For Child Abuse!® Blue Ribbon Campaign and prevention efforts.
