The Merrick Festival Caroling Competition, conducted annually outside the 550 Biltmore Building in Coral Gables, has announced its list of school choirs invited to participate this year.
Sally Baumgartner, executive director of the Merrick Festival, produces this weeklong event every year that awards local choirs thousands of dollars to support their programs. Best of all, the performances are free to the public and a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
Thirty schools were selected to complete with 7 p.m. nightly performances beginning Nov. 28 and continuing through Dec. 2.
An Awards Show caps off the week on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. At this finale, winning choirs perform short programs and receive their checks.
