Boys & Girls Clubs Christmas Tree Lot grand opening slated Nov. 19

For more than 37 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has been selling Christmas trees and wreaths to help bring holiday cheer into South Florida homes. In 2018, the tradition continues in the tree lot at the Hank Kline Club, 2805 SW 32 Ave.

The trees, gorgeous Fraser firs hand-selected in North Carolina by Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s president Alex Rodriguez-Roig, stand 5- to 14-feet tall with a starting price of $55. Plain and hand-decorated wreaths also are available starting at $35.

Proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s many positive programs, including after school programs, homework assistance, computer training, social skills, dance, arts and crafts, professional mentoring, and summer and athletic programs, for area children who need them the most.

To begin the 2018 holiday season, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade will host a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony at the Hank Kline Club tree lot on Monday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. Miami dignitaries, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade board members and representatives and Santa Claus will attend to celebrate a holly jolly holiday season.

The tree lot will be open seven days a week, 9 a.m.–9 p.m., starting Nov. 20 until trees are sold out.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has been serving youth in the community since 1940. What once was a single building and site for boys has grown to five clubs serving thousands of boys and girls year-round, providing programs in the areas of character and leadership development, educational enhancement, career preparation, health and life skills, cultural arts and sports, fitness and recreation. Club staffing, initiatives, and programs are designed to inspire and enable young people and provide them with the resources to succeed and share in the American Dream.
