The Two Hundred Club of Greater Miami held its spring dinner at Riviera Country Club on March 23. A low profile organization, the Club is one of many unsung but heroic South Florida organizations whose financial support (and more) continue to help families of police and firefighters killed in the line of duty. President Richard Souviron introduced University of Miami alumnus, Billy Corben, a film director, producer and founder of rakontur. Among his laurels: a feature documentary and directorial debut, Raw Deal: A Question of Consent, which premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, making him one of the youngest directors in Sundance history. Corben entertained members with humorous takes on South Florida and applauded the group for its mission. Among the hundreds enjoying the affair were Peter Bermont, James Loftus, Katherin Ezell, Hank Langston, John Krutulis, Charles Johnson, June Sparks, and Randy Groh.
